I was born in 1956 as a child of a farmer family in Karahallı village of Aydın's Nazilli district in Turkey. Aydın is geographically known as a place where the best and high-quality figs of the world are grown.
I started fig production with my family in the 70s. Turkish Fig production is inherited from my father. By June, the sweet rush of collecting the figs used to cause us to get into a flap. I still feel the same excitement.
